Norwalk Station is located in the southeast corner of Los Angeles County. Norwalk Station serves the cities of Norwalk, La Mirada, and the unincorporated South Whittier County area with nearly 220,000 residents in a 24 square mile patrol area. One of the many goals of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has been to maintain an unprecedented closeness with the communities we serve in an effort to clearly understand their varying needs and adapt our services to each community.
The Sheriff's Department believes that community partnerships and cooperation can enhance the quality of life in area neighborhoods. The Community Based Policing approach has reduced crime and fear in neighborhoods once dominated by gangs and drugs. Community members and Norwalk Station deputies have embraced the COPS concept and forged long-term relationships. The collective effort resulted in a reduction of crime within the community.
