The role of the Department of Regional Planning is to oversee and regulate community planning and land development in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. The department is involved in all phases of development, including long-range planning, the subdivision process and permits for many types of projects and land uses.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life through innovative and resourceful physical and environmental planning, balancing individual rights and community needs.
